We make it really simple to enrol for our courses! In addition to enrolling and paying for class fees in person at the Store, you may also download our enrolment form (downloadable form under "B-I-Y Course Studio" on the left  navigation bar) to type your information directly into our Class Enrolment Form, then email or fax to us, all in the comfort of your home! Of course don't forget to follow up with your payment via cheque or internet banking. (this form is not required for in-store enrolments and payments).

Notice to Buyer (defined as all enrolled students at B-I-Y Course Centre) 

  1. Your enrolment in our courses / workshops constitutes acceptance of  B-I-Y class policies. You also accept that exceptions to these policies will not be entertained.
  2. Do not enroll until you have read this agreement.
  3. This is a legal document and binding instrument when agreed upon by the student and accepted by the Course Centre.
  4. You are entitled to an exact copy of this agreement.
  5. This contract constitutes the entire agreement between the Buyer and the Course Centre.

 

 

Registration for classes with fees and free demonstrations:

a) For chargeable classes: please note that we will not confirm enrolments without payment. Places will ONLY be confirmed when we receive payment for the class. (Chargeable classes are defined as classes with fees)

 

b) For free demonstrations: you need to call us at 6-100-2253 to register before the demonstration. No walk-ins will be entertained unless there is available space. (We sometimes organise Free demonstrations. These will be stated clearly as non-chargeable, ie., free)

Private Classes (Group or Individual): If your schedule does not permit you to attend any of our scheduled classes, you may contact us at class@b-i-y.com for a discussion on scheduling private classes.

Customised, Individually-Designed Classes: We also work closely and personally with students who wish to have a specially designed curriculum. This is an individually designed class where you tell us what you wish to learn and we will design a curriculum for you. Apart from our Wilton trained instructors, we also work closely with pastry chefs who freelance as guest instructors with us for specific clinics or personal classes. We can match your requirements with an instructor whose experience and expertise best meets your learning needs. Course fees for such classes will be determined by the scope, ingredient requirements, timeframe and expertise of your instructor. You will be given a B-I-Y certificate of attendance at the end of the class. So you wish to learn another aspect of baking or decorating that is currently not covered by our regularly scheduled classes, please email Cheryl at cheryl@b-i-y.com for a consultation.

Payment Method for Classes: (please do not transfer payment via ATM as there is no possibility of us identifying you as payer and we will therefore not be able to confirm nor refund your payment if you do so.)

1) Payment at the store: Please note that as all class registration are managed from our office, payment at the store does not constitute confirmation. Please see point 3.

2) Pay by Mail: Simply mail your cheque with your name, telephone number, email address and the purpose of the payment to The Bake It Yourself Store, 182 Bukit Timah Road, Ground Floor, Singapore 229853. Cheques should be made payable to B-I-Y Pte Ltd. Please allow at least 3 working days lead time to your cheque to reach us. We will contact you once we receive your cheque. If you do not hear from us by the 5th day, please call the Store at 6-100-BAKE (2253).

3) Pay by Internet Banking: You may transfer payment from your account directly to our UOB account #130-313-928-7, Bank Code: 7375, Branch Code: 030. It is of utmost importance that you identify yourself by putting in your name in the transaction. Unidentified payments will not be entertained and we cannot refund such payments as the bank is unable to identify the payee. After your have made your transfer, please email us at sales@b-i-y.com (for sales related payments) or class@b-i-y.com (for class fee payments) to inform us of your transfer, indicating your name, contact number, email address and the purpose of  the payment. Please allow at least 3 working days for your payment to be transfered to us. We will contact you once we receive your cheque. If you do not hear from us by the 5th day, please email us. Please do not call the Store to enquire as store personnel will not be aware of your payments via internet banking.

Payment Schedule:  Full class fees must be received by B-I-Y within payment dateline to confirm class enrolment. Payment dateline of up to one calendar week may be given to student to make full payment, after which, tentative reservation of slot will be automatically released to the next student on our class waiting list, should payment not be received by B-I-Y.

 Admission Policies:

        1. B-I-Y will not be responsible for giving you further reminders to attend the class.

        2 B-I-Y reserves the right to change assigned instructor for a class at any time, without notification.

        3. Regarding internet, snail mail and fax correspondence, if you do not receive an acknowledgement email, kindly resend or call us to check. Proof of posting is not proof of receipt. We cannot be held responsible for not receiving your notification promptly.

        4. Closing date for class is 5 working days before start of class. Registration will close by the closing date. Any tentative reservation still unpaid will be cancelled automatically.

        5. Students are welcome to use existing appliances, baking tools and equipment currently available in the classroom for class purposes on condition that these appliances, tools and equipment are adequately cleaned and kept away in their original place after use, and all reasonable care has been taken to ensure that appliances, tools and equipment are not damaged. B-I-Y reserves to right to demand reasonable reparation should there be damage to or loss of B-I-Y appliances, tools and equipment.

        6. B-I-Y reserves the right to expel any student for disrupting classes or impeding other student’s work, without any obligation to refund tuition or fees. If an instructor determines that a student is unable to function properly or benefit from a class, it may be recommended that the student be dropped, in which case a partial fee settlement may be made at the centre’s discretion.

        7. Students will receive a completion certificate upon successful completion of each class.

Cancellation & Refund:

1.     Conditions for Refund:

S$2.00 Handling Charge will be levied for all class fee refunds.

a.       Wilton Method of Cake Decorating Courses 1, 2, and 3 & PME Diploma Modules: No refunds will be given once classes have begun (including B-I-Y receiving notification of cancellation on the day of the class). If you wish to cancel or reschedule your enrolment, please give us one calendar week’s notice in writing to class@b-i-y.com. It will be considered cancelled when you receive our email acknowledgement of your cancellation. If B-I-Y receives your cancellation or reschedule request less than 5 working days before the first lesson of the class, 30% of the course fee will be charged.

b.       All other B-I-Y Courses: No refunds will be given if cancellation or request for transfer is received by B-I-Y less than one calendar week before start of class.

2.       Penalty Charges:

a.       30% Late Notice Cancellation Penalty Charges (only applicable to Wilton Method of Cake Decorating Courses 1, 2 and 3 & PME Diploma Modules) - 30% of your student fee will be charged for cancellation / rescheduling notification one calendar week before start of class.

b.       S$50.00  Rescheduling Penalty Charges (applicable to all classes) - A penalty charge of S$50.00 will be levied for each request to reschedule after the first request. First request to reschedule will not be charged.

3.       A handling fee of S$2.00 will be levied on all class fee refunds.

4.       Conditions for Make-up Class

a.       Only one make-up class permitted per student for Wilton Method of Cake Decorating Classes. Kindl y note that this is not a student’s entitlement, but is dependent on instructor’s schedule, and upon B-I-Y approval, which will depend on validity of reason. Students must inform their instructor if they are unable to attend a lesson at least one day before the class. If no notification is given by the student, the student automatically forfeits the lesson, which may result in not attaining the Wilton certificate of completion for the course. B-I-Y and / the Wilton instructor is not responsible for following up with absent students.

b.       There are no make-up classes for all other courses / workshops.

Class Cancellation by B-I-Y:

B-I-Y reserves the right to cancel any class. Upon occasion, classes have been cancelled due to lack of enrollment. In the event that this were to happen, students will be given a choice of either a full refund (handling charges will be waived) or credit to be used within a 3 month period of time. No other personal expenses will be reimbursed.

 Detailed information on class syllabus and information is provided on the B-I-Y Website. You are also welcome to contact class@b-i-y.com for any clarification. You are therefore deemed to have enrolled upon full understanding of class details. B-I-Y will not entertain disputes arising from non awareness or misreading of details before attending the classes, as information is freely available.
